Teflon FEP CX5010N
Teflon FEP CX5010N fluoropolymer resin consists of virgin Teflon FEP 100 and boron nitride.
Supplied as white pellets, this resin is used in conventional foam extrusion processes with the addition of nitrogen gas to produce foamed coaxial cables.
The boron nitride particles act as initiation sites for foam cells.
These foam cells are formed when nitrogen, which is absorbed in the melted resin, expands as pressure is relieved when the melt exits the wirecovering crosshead.
Foamed coaxial cables of Teflon FEP CX5010N are known for high-frequency signal transmission with minimal distortion.
A typical coaxial cable core made from foamed Teflon FEP resin contains approximately 60 percent voids.
These voids are entirely closed cells, ranging from 1 mil(0.001 in) to 10 mil(0.01 in) in diameter.
The low dielectric constant and dissipation factor of Teflon FEP 100 make it an excellent material for coaxial cable cores.
Foaming Teflon FEP enhances these electronic properties, providing opportunities for cable miniaturization.
Foaming also reduces cable weight, an advantage for many applications.
Teflon FEP CX5010N is ideal for producing coaxial cable cores in a broad range of sizes.
The core diameter can vary from 0.127 cm(0.05 in) to 1.27 cm(0.5 in).
