Joint-stock company "Usolye-Siberian Silicon" is a manufacturer of organosilicon products residing in town Usolye-Sibirskoe.
From 1963 to 1993 the company was the structural division of industrial association of Usolye "Khimprom" and in 1993 it has separated out into an independent joint-stock company "Sibirskiy Silicon".
The building of factory for production of organosilicon chemical products has been started since 1961 and in 1963 a first production was established: production of methyl chloride, a starting raw material for the synthesis of organosilicon monomers, which are further transformed to organosilicon polymers.
In 1969 block 94 was built and the production of methylchlorosilanes (MCS) based on methyl chloride was established. Production of MCS was first realized by the periodic scheme, then after synthesis reconstruction performed in 1974 it was almost fully switched to continuous scheme and the same was done to the processes of distillation of the obtained mixtures. At the same time productions of ethylchlorosilanes and phenyltrichlorosilane were created, working by almost the same technology as the MCS production, with the difference that ethyl chloride and chlorobenzene were used, respectively.
Manufacturing organochlorosilanes in sufficient quantities allowed the company to set up productions for converting these products into different organosilicon polymers which found a stable demand in economy. Block 92 built in 1964 started to assimilate technology of production of organosilicon varnish, both thermally stable and electroinsulating ones, enamels of different colors, organosilicon hydrophobizing liquids, polyethylsiloxane liquids used in different branches of industry as lubricating oils, modifiers, and many other valuable organosilicon products.
In 1982, production of hydrolizate and depolymerizate based on available dimethyldichlorosilane was established in block 94, for further supply to factories producing synthetic rubbers.
In the recent years production of a number of new types of products was established: electroinsulating varnish KO-916K; defoamer 131-96 designed for quenching of foam in cellulose-paper industry, etc.; composition KO-503 for marking roads and airport runways.
In 2002, production of trichlorosilane grade "B" was established with an output of 4000 tons of trichlorosilane per year for manufacturing polycrystalline silicon.
The enterprise is unique at the territory from Ural to Far East, it produces over 30 titles of organosilicon products which possess a spectrum of hydrophobic, appretic, thermo-, moisture- and frost-resistant, dielectric, ecologic and other properties and are widely used in almost every field of the industry. They are used in building industry, oil production, lacquer paint, automobile, electronic, cellulose-paper, cosmetic, chemical, textile, leather industries and so on.
