Shandong caiyangzi saltworks, which is situated in the north of Shouguang city and was founded in 1959, is a big state-owed big scale salt enterprise. It has a total area of 22.8sqkm, total assets 170 million RMB and 1,200 employees. The saltworks administers 10subunits and 10 functional offices.It is one of the backbone enterprises of salt industry in Shandong. The annual outputs of salt and salt chemicals are: crude salt 400,000 tons, table salt 300,000 tons (vacuum sea salt 100,000 tons, other salts200, 000 tons), melting snow salt 300,000 tons, p-cresol 4,000 tons, octabromoether 1,000 tons, industrial bromine 3,000 tons. The enterprise insists on developing itself by science and technology, respects knowledge and talents and lays stress on technical development. The new structure, in which the salt is principle, the salt chemical and fine chemical are complementary, has been formed by 3 series more than 20 kinds of products. It has ranked one of the top 30 largest scale and best profit enterprises in salt industry for many years. It has won the honorable titles such as star enterprise in provincial light industry, advanced enterprise in provincial salt industry and one of the ten best enterprises in Shouguang.
