KPL International is a part of the US$ 140 million Kanoria Chemicals and Industries Limited (KCIL) Group. KCIL is a major player in the Indian chemicals industry, manufacturing chlor-alkalis and alchohol-based intermediates. The other business interests of the Group include jute manufacturing (Aketa Limited), travel & tourism (Sunshine Travels (India) Private Limited) and international trading (KPL International Limited). KCIL started in the early 1960s, has evolved as a market leader in India in several of the products its manufactures.
The group embodies strong focus on quality and use of modern technologies. Both its plants at renukoot in the state of Uttar Pradesh and at Ankleshwar in the state of Gujarat are ISO 9002 certified. KCIL is also the lowest cost producer of its basket of products in India. Extremely environmentally conscious and socially responsible, the Group has achieved ISO 14001 certification and carries out several community and rural development programs.
The International Business Division of KPL International Ltd. was formed in the year 1990. International Affiliations of KPL are traced back to the relationships of its promoter company Kanoria Chemicals & Industries Limited, which had technical collaborations with some of the well global leaders in the Chemical Industry like Krebs & Co., A.G. of Switzerland, Kureha Chemicals of Japan, Fredrich UHDE GmbH of Germany, Asahi Glass of Japan and Perstorp of Sweden. Apart from this, the group has been exporting its products across the globe and is well experienced with the dynamics of the Indian and international markets.
The operations of KPL are broadly divided into two segments Chemicals & Polymers Division and Engineering Products Division.The core strengths of KPL, however, include process specialization in sourcing and marketing and are therefore, product non-specific.
The Chemicals & Polymers Division is primarily engaged in marketing quality products mainly in the field of Chemicals and Plastics sourced from globally recognized manufacturers. Currently KPL exclusively represents over Thirty-Five global companies. KPL has been growing at a rapid pace and is catering to a base of around 350 large customers and handling more than 70 products.
KPL has worked its way up to establish its market dominance, while expanding its portfolio of affiliations. KPL can currently boast of being exclusive agents to conglomerates like Solvay of Belgium & Germany, Engelhard of USA, Merisol of South Africa and Chemische Fabrik Budenheim of Germany among others.
The Engineering Division of KPL specialises in arranging subcontracting collaborations, international marketing and market research activities. Main thrust areas are castings, forgings, machined components, industrial equipment and industry consumables.
