Naphthenic process oil |
|
CALSOL 5 Series Process Oils are light colored, nonstaining naphthenic oils. They combine excellent initial color and color stability with intermediate levels of aromatic and naphthenic molecular structures. This combination provides good compatibility with unsaturated synthetic polymers at the oil loadings used in critical color applications. The higher levels of refining applied here provide better resistance to aging and color degradation as evidenced by the very low levels of polar compounds, measured by ASTM D-2007 and by ASTM D-2008. The oil components that absorb ultraviolet light at 260 nm are aromatic compounds that have been shown to contribute significantly to instability when exposed to light. In addition, the naphthenic character of the CALSOL 5 Series Oils makes them an ideal choice whenever the balance of hardness and color stability is critical. For example: thermoplastics, radial and styrene block. |
