Specialty additives characterized by: high strength-to-weight ratios, small size, narrow particle size distribution, chemical purity, high chemical inertness, superior hot / wet properties
For any given density, Eccospheres are stronger, smaller and purer than conventional microspheres. For these reasons, they are often chosen to meet demanding specifications in critical applications: NASA's space shuttle, insulation of ultra deep oil production wells and fiber reinforced plastics manufacturing.
When used as an ingredient in plastic or elastomeric systems they impart important benefits, including: reduced weight, improved thermal insulation, lower dielectric constant, improved machineability
