Electrosol 325
ELECTROSOL 325 is a liquid anti-static agent of the modified fatty amine class. It is designed for surface-coating of resins and textiles to curtail static build-up.
Under normal conditions, synthetic fabrics, plastic sheets, or plastic moldings have an electrical surface resistance of 1016 Ohms. After treatment with ELECTROSOL 325, the resistance drops to 104 Ohms, inducing a faster flow-off of static electrical charges. While highly effective, the anti-static action of such surface treatments is not permanent over the life of the treated surface.
ELECTROSOL 325 may be applied by dipping, wiping, impregnation, or as a spray. This liquid may be diluted with water at room temperature. On heavy fabrics, a concentration of 30% ELECTROSOL 325 may be sprayed on. Light-weight fabrics may be treated by padding a 3.0-5.0% solution.
In multiple laminations of paper, wood, plastics, or fabrics, all sheets may be treated prior to contact by coating both sides through the use of flannel-covered rollers impregnated with a 50% solution of ELECTROSOL 325. The rollers should be dried at 50C before use.
ELECTROSOL 325 also may be applied with impregnated and dried hand cloths to destaticize various consumer objects before packaging.
ELECTROSOL boils at 82C., has flash point 32C (Cleveland open cup), and contains 31.5% volatiles (by volume).
