Miconazole nitrate is an antifungal pharmaceutical for the treatment of tinea, jock itch, ringworm, athlete's foot, tinea versicolor and fungal paronychia, and by the yeast (eg Candida) and Gram-positive bacterial vaginal infections and secondary infection, otitis externa, bacterial skin infections are also effective.
Biological Activity: Antifungal agent. Inhibits lanosterol demethylase and induces formation of reactive oxygen species.
