Accelerator CBTS is one of the most popular delayed action sulfenamide accelerators for natural and synthetic rubbers.
It provides better scorch resistance than thiazoles and at the same time can be accelerated by thiurams and dithiocarbamates to give shorter cure times.
Accelerator CBTS is non-blooming with the recommended usage range is 0.5 - 3.0 phr. Also, Accelerator CBTS can be used as a retarder for ETU-cured polychloroprene and high thiuram cures.
This accelerator disperses readily at temperatures as low as 160°F, although melt temperature is recommended for best dispersion.
Accelerator CBTS is also available as Akrosperse CBS-75/EPR/S.
This polymeric masterbatch contains 75% Accelerator CBTS and has a specific gravity of 1.15.
