Uses: Caffeic acid phenethyl ester (caffeic acid phenethylester, CAPE) has been identified as the main active component of propolis, one of the many biological activities of propolis are related with the CPAE. Thus, CAPE is the active ingredient of propolis abroad in recent years a hot topic.
1, anti-oxidation: CAPE structure containing catechol structure, is a strong antioxidant.
2,anti-inflammatory effect: CAPE containing propolis ethanol extract inhibited carrageenan-induced adjuvant arthritis, pleurisy and paw edema in rats, and not contain extracts from CAPE does not have this activity, indicating that CAPE is play the main components of anti-inflammatory effects.
