Introduction: Allantoin is a non-toxic, tasteless, no stimulation, no allergic white crystal, the crystal water for single prism body or colorless crystalline powder. Can dissolve in hot water, hot alcohol and dilute sodium hydroxide solution. Soluble in water and alcohol, soluble in water and alcohol, soluble in ether and chloroform and other organic solvents, the saturated aqueous solution (concentration of 0.6%) was slightly acidic
PH was 5.5. Stable in aqueous solution with pH value of 4-9. Are stable in nonaqueous solvent and drying in the air
