The Tianeptine molecule itself, not formed into a salt. Sometimes also referred to as the ¡°free base¡±, although Tianeptine is mildly acidic. Free Acid is more stable than Tianeptine Sodium.
So there are three different kinds of tianeptine sodium, sulfate, and free acid. Sodium is the shortest lasting, then comes free acid, and then sulfate. I'm not sure the conversion rate for free acid, but mg for mg, sodium contains 2.5 times more tianeptine than sulfate. Free acid can be converted into sodium, but that's another story. |

In my opinion, the sulfate is worth the price. With the shortage of tianeptine lately, vendors have jacked up their prices making the sodium more expensive than sulfate anyways. I, as well as many others that I've talked to, were able to get by with just two sulfate doses during the day. It ends up saving you money even though it's initially more expensive. |
