VERSA-TL 502 is an anionic polyelectrolyte, sodium polystyrene sulfonate.
The high degree of sulfonation imparts properties to the polymer that make it suitable for a variety of applications.
It is an effective dispersant for metal oxides and sulfates as well as a suspending agent for selected particulates.
VERSA-TL 502 acts as a protective colloid in oil in water emulsion systems, providing stability for downstream processing.
It is also effective in providing viscosity control in aqueous adhesive systems, especially in those formulations containing polyalcohols e.g. polyvinyl alcohol. |
