VESTOLIT P 1342 K - a processing aid for calendering based on high-molecular emulsion (E-) PVC. Due to its high k-value, it produces an increase in melt viscosity which makes the melt plastify faster, resulting in a smoother run in the calender gap. The occurrence of flow lines is reduced or avoided altogether.
Particular advantages are obtained by adding VESTOLIT P 1342 K in the production of thick film gauges since air locks are avoided and the tendency to stick on the rolls is reduced.
VESTOLIT P 1342 K improves both slip and anti-blocking properties and serves as an unstacking aid for film blanks. The quantities added are 0.5 - 1.5% for processing of rigid products, 3 - 10% for processing of semi-rigid products and 5 - 20% for processing of soft products. Additions of up to approx. 1.5% normally will not affect transparency. |
