ULTRANOX 236
4,4'-thiobis-(6-t-butyl-m-cresol)
ULTRANOX 236 is an alkylated, sterically hindered bisphenol containing a thioether group. It is an excellent antioxidant for all polyolefins, PVC, acrylic ethyl cellulose and synthetic rubbers. It is effective both as a free radical trap and peroxide decomposer and acts as a synergist with organophosphites such as ULTRANOX 626, WESTON 619 and WESTON 399--a combination that provides superior heat and light stability. Typical loadings are 0.02%-0.5% of ULTRANOX 236 and an equivalent amount of organophosphite.
ULTRANOX 236 is also an antioxidant for lubricants, cutting oils, water soluble oils and hydraulic oils.
