Pentaerythritol Tetrastearate is an intermediate lubricant which exhibits both internal and external lubricating properties. It finds use in rigid PVC, Polycarbonate and Polyesters. Special Features
In rigid PVC, Pentaerythritol Tetrastearate imparts good flow properties and good release effects without significant adverse effect on clarity. Since it has internal and external lubricating properties, it offers the advantage of being able to be used as a one-component system which has little effect on HDT. In polycarbonates, it offers improved flow properties and good release without adversely affecting the clarity. Pentaerythritol Tetrastearate has also been found effective in promotion of flow and release in polyester bulk molding compounds because of its dual functionality.
In all above applications, Jarchem recommends a starting point concentration of 0.5-1.5 PHR.
