PX-109, Diisononyl Phthalate, is suggested for uses which require lower volatility and a higher degree of permanence than could be obtained with DOP.
When used as a plasticizer for vinyl products diisononyl phthalate is a highly compatible, permanent plasticizer with excellent resistance to extraction by oil, water, and soap solutions. These properties are of particular importance in sheeting, coated fabrics and in extruded items such as vinyl tubing, refrigerator gaskets and electrical jacketing. Vinyls plasticized with PX-109 are approximately equal in low temperature flexibility to those employing DOP. |
