Vamac D |
Ethylene/acrylic elastomer |
Vamac D is an unfilled gum dipolymer of ethylene and methylacrylate, requiring a peroxide cure system. Compared with the amine-cured Vamac G terpolymer, Vamac D is less sensitive to attack by certain aggressive chemicals in oil and auto coolants. The enhanced initial cure characteristic of Vamac D greatly reduces the need for post-curing. Compounds of Vamac D are well suited to applications such as hose linings, as well as moldings that don't require optimum compression set resistance. (For better compression set characteristics, post-cured compounds such as those made with Vamac G are preferred.) Vamac D contains a small amount of processing aid, and has a nominal specific gravity of 1.06. Storage stability is excellent. |
