Calcium Saccharate is the normal calcium salt of D-saccharic acid, a dicarboxiylic sugar acid derived from the oxidation of D-gluconic acid, it has been found present in fruits like apples, grapefruit etc. & also in some vegetables
Calcium d-Glucarate is extensively used as a pharmaceutical aid to stabilize calcium gluconate solution used as injectable for calcium supplement. It is also used in veterinary medicines.
Description : A fine white powder, oudurless, tasteless
Solubility : Practically insoluble in water, alcohol, ether, soluble in dilute mineral acids and calcium gluconate solution.
Specific Rotation : +18.5 to +22.5, Heavy Metals :MT 0.002%
Aresnic : NMT 3 PPM, Chloride: NMT 0.07% Sulphate: NMT 0.12%
Lead (Pb) : NMT 0.4 PPM
Sucrose & Reducing Sugar : The test solution of the product does not immediately form red precipitate when treated with alkaline cupric tartrate TS.
Calcium Content : 12.5% (Approx), Glucaric Acid content: 65.5% (approx.)
Assay (C6H8CaO8-4H2o) : 98.5% to 102.0% O.V. Impurity: Meets USP23 requirements
