| Alcogum L-500 |

ALCOGUM L-500 is an acrylic emulsion copolymer which can be used in woven textile leaning ormulations. This product is designed to provide a very stiff, brittle film after drying that is water insoluble. The glass transition temperature (Tg) of ALCOGUM L-500 film is 105°C. Neutralization of ALCOGUM L-500 with a dilute base will not affect the film’s water solubility or brittleness characteristics of the film.
ALCOGUM L-500 is compatible with anionic and non-ionic surfactants. Dilute polar solvents like
ethanol and isopropanol may be added, not to exceed 5% by weight. Higher levels can cause gelation. Careful selection of additional formulary ingredients can modify the film durability and coating properties. The pH of your formulation can be altered by neutralizing with a dilute base such as 1% sodium hydroxide, 10% sodium bicarbonate or dilute primary, secondary or tertiary amine solutions with agitation. |
