ALCOGUM L-29 is an alkali soluble viscosifier of the type commonly referred to as an in-situ thickener. It is supplied as a stable anionic latex emulsion at acid pH and low viscosity. For neutralization purposes, ALCOGUM L-29 has an equivalent weight of 23.2(a).
ALCOGUM L-29 was developed for use in paper coating formulations that require additional water retention without significant increases in low and high shear viscosity for better coater runnability. This product allows the formulator to build more water retention into his formulation while maintaining lower Brookfield and Hercules high shear viscosities compared to other ALCOGUM L-SERIES products. Lower blade pressures at higher speeds are a common result of these properties. |
