ALCOGUM L-289 is a member of the ALCOGUM L-200 Series of thickeners. This product group utilizes a proprietary emulsification system which provides excellent mechanical shear and freeze-thaw stability to the emulsion. These emulsions have enhanced compatibility with typical coating raw materials which simplifies addition and mixing techniques.
ALCOGUM L-289 is an associative alkali soluble viscosifier. It is supplied as a stable, ready-touse anionic latex emulsion.
ALCOGUM L-289 was developed for use in lightweight coating formulations that require additional water retention and reduced blade pressure for improved coater runnability. This product allows the formulator to build more water retention into his formulation while maintaining lower Hercules high shear viscosity compared to typical synthetic and cellulosic thickeners. Improved coater efficiency and enhanced paper properties may be obtained using ALCOGUM L-289. |
