Akrochem’s Proaid AC-1142 is a mixture of higher molecular weight fatty acids and fatty acid esters designed to act as a processing aid for a wide range of polymers.
Proaid AC-1142 reduces compound viscosity and improves mold flow and release from all metal surfaces with minimal affect on cured physical properties.
All ingredients used in the manufacture of Proaid AC 1142 are acceptable under CFR 21, Sec. 177.2600, Rubber Articles for Repeated Use.
The dosage for Proaid AC-1142 is 2 to 5 phr, depending on the polymer and the process. Use the higher levels in non-black loaded compounds and in those applications where maximum flow is required.
Proaid AC-1142 may be used:
- To reduce mold fouling
- To improve mold filling and cured part finish
- To improve flow characteristics in injection and extrusion equip.
- To improve release from molds, mills and internal mixers
- To improve dispersion of fillers during mixing (add early in mix) |
