SYLVABLEND AB-40 |
Tall Oil Fractions |
SYLVABLEND AB-40 has been designed as an intermediate for use in preparing asphalt emulsifiers and road dust control agents. SYLVABLEND AB-40 can be converted to surface active agents by way of their carboxyl group. Reaction with sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide forms an anionic emulsifier when used to coat aggregate material having a positive electrical charge such as dolomite or limestone. Asphalt emulsifiers made from AB-40 are generally used in the manufacture of high-float medium setting grades such as HFMS-1, HFMS-2h. The typical applications of these grades are cold and hot plant mix, coarse aggregate seal coats, crack treatment road mix, and tack coats. |
