EFKA-3031:
-improves mar-resistance
-increases slip and surface smoothness
-prevents cratering
-decreases the tendency to floating of pigments
-reduces the sensitivity to air-draughts
* Application:
EFKA-3031 is compatible with all medium to high-polarity solvent based systems.
Wood finishes: in unsaturated polyesters, e.g. UV-cured, EFKA-3031 improves slip and smoothness of the surface, and does not influence curtain stability when applied by curtain coating.
The sensitivity to air-draughts when sprayed or poured will be reduced by EFKA-3031.
Metal coatings: EFKA-3031 improves leveling and mar-resistance and acts as an antiblocking agent.
This is particularly advantageous in PUR systems based on hydroxyacrylics.
Due to its high surface activity, EFKA-3031 can interfere with intercoat adhesion when recoated without sanding.
If air is introduced by the application equipment small amounts of defoamers such as EFKA-2020 and EFKA-2022 should be added. |
