Water based emulsion of polydimethylsiloxane

40% active emulsion of polydimethylsiloxane, developed to give hydrophobicity to glass and mineral wool.
Hydrophobic treatment of glass wool and mineral wool insulation.
Especially recommended where elevated application temperatures occur, such as in the manufacture of fibreglass boards and mats.
DOW CORNING 1581 Water Repellent is an aqueous emulsion of polydimethyl siloxane.
It has been developed to give hydrophobicity for glass and mineral wool.
When applied on its own, this product imparts effective hydrophobicity using low levels of silicone concentration.
It is effective at addition rates as low as 0.2% by weight of silicone in the total treatment solution.
In addition, it retains these hydrophobing properties after processing at high temperatures.
