Deltaforge 144 |
|
Deltaforge 144 is a high quality, widely used, billet coating and die lubricant designed specifically for use in the forging industry. Composed of processed micro-graphite and proprietary substances in a dilutable base, Deltaforge 144 forms an adherent, oxidation resistant film that maintains high lubricity at forming temperatures. As a coating, Deltaforge 144 lubricates and protects powder metal preforms prior to hot forming or hot densification. It also protects wrought slugs from decarburization and provides lubrication during warm forming. In some operations wrought slugs coated with Deltaforge 144 can be warm formed without the aid of additional die lubrication. Deltaforge 144 is normally effective to 1500'F (816'C). (Higher temperature usage depends on the length of time and method of heating.) As a die lubricant, Deltaforge 144 is particularly effective when there is extensive metal movement and/or extreme die temperatures (exceeding 800'F, 427'C) and pressures. It significantly improves the movement of metal and die life while offering numerous other advantages: - High lubricity - Excellent thermal stability - Protects workpiece from oxidation - Smokeless - Nonflammable - No harmful vapors - Improves plant environment |
