Foam is a persistent problem in many industries. It decreases capacity, causes disastrous overflows, results in spotting or streaking, and produces nonuniformity. Foaming can often be controlled by means of an efficient anti-foaming agent - but often this additive causes problems of its own. Ordinary silicones tend to congeal, producing adhesions which, in turn, cause spotting or imperfections, or the anti-foaming action tends to disappear too quickly and additions must be made too frequently or the product is too costly - or all of these. FoamBreaker is a liquid anti-foaming agent or foamdepressant, which is long acting in low concentrations. It does not tend to coagulate and adhere to exposed surfaces. FoamBreaker is a complex of a polyhydric alcohol: silicone polymer, readily dissolving or dispersing in a wide range of aqueous solutions, such as surfactants, metalcleaning baths, cutting oils, etc., even those containing high alkali and saline concentrations. Because it is effective in controlling foam where other products have failed, because of the small amount required per unit of solution to be treated and its relatively low cost, FoamBreaker is reliable and economical. |
