Lubrajel RC is a water-soluble lubricating gel capable of terminal sterilization with 2.5 Megarads (25 Kgy) of gamma radiation.
Several years of extensive research has resulted in this clear, colorless Lubrajel product.
Lubrajel RC is an extension of the Lubrajel RR product.
It is a cost effective, pH balanced, enhanced lubricating gel designed specifically for use as a urological catheter lubricant.
It may be applied to the catheter prior to packaging and sterilization, providing the medical professional with a convenient pre-lubricated device.
It may also be packaged into syringes, ready for administration into the urethra.
Lubrajel RC is clear and colorless, and virtually odorless and remains so after sterilization by gamma radiation.
An initial apparent viscosity of about 300,000 cps (Brookfield RVT or equivalent, spindle #4, 0.5 rpm, 22'C) exhibits practically no change upon irradiation.
Temperature stressed stability studies indicate that pH, viscosity, color, clarity and lubricating qualities are not sacrificed.
Lubrajel RC is a pseudo-plastic gel that is easily pumped, even through tubes of small diameters.
Because of its pseudo-plastic properties, Lubrajel RC is an ideal lubricant for thermometers, catheters, enema tips, etc., or for application directly to the skin for lubrication, moisturization or conditioning purposes. |
