Lubrajel TW was developed as a vehicle for cosmetic ingredients with the potential as a pharmaceutical vehicle as well. The solubilization properties of Lubrajel TW enable coupling of a variety of otherwise water insoluble ingredients. The rheological characteristics of TW are very similar to that of Lubrajel MS. The moisturization potential is also very similar. Lubrajel TW is aesthetically different from Lubrajel MS in that it does not have the tackiness observed with the latter. Lubrajel TW has been marketed to the cosmetic industry as a moisturizing base. This extraordinary moisturizer also lends rheological qualities as well as aesthetics to cosmetic creams, lotions and other personal care products. Lubrajel TW is widely accepted by many of the world's cosmetic manufacturers as a unique moisturizer and is found in a variety of products world-wide. In cosmetics, Lubrajel TW is usually employed at concentrations between 5 and 50% depending on the degree of moisture balancing, rheological considerations and aesthetics desired in the product. Lubrajel TW is usually added post-emulsion formation in creams and lotions. It is often added before the cool-down of hot emulsions. It may also be used to stabilize cold manufactured emulsions. |
