BSWL 202 is the pigment most often recommended for electrodeposited automotive primer. Lead has been shown to increase the corrosion resistance of a coating cathodically electrodeposited on an iron metal surface, particularly an untreated metal surface. Also, it has been found that lead retards corrosion of the iron parts of the electrodeposition bath. BSWL 202 also exhibits heat stabilizing characteristics in chlorinated plastic or rubber compounds, particularly CPE and epichlorohydrin. The anti-corrosive properties of this product provide a paint formulator with the ability to produce white or light-colored industrial or maintenance paints, either solvent or water-thinned. |
