SYNFLUO 150 is a micronized modified fluorocarbon that has been processed to impart optimum slip and hardness to most inks and coatings.
SYNFLUO 150 is supplied as a fine white powder that corresponds to a 3.0 NPIRI grind gauge reading.
This fine particle size will eliminate the need for melt compounding or grinding.
SYNFLUO 150 can be readily dispersed into most ink vehicles by means of normal high speed mixing.
SYNFLUO 150 has been designed to provide the excellent slip properties associated with fluorocarbons along with the hardness and abrasion resistance provided by synthetic wax.
SYNFLUO 150 is recommended for use in flexographic, gravure, letterpress and offset inks as well as most lacquers and overprint varnishes.
Generally, 1-3% by weight will provide optimum properties.
However, the amount of SYNFLUO 150 needed will vary depending on the type of ink or coating and he end use requirements.
At temperatures below 600'F, SYNFLUO 150 will not emit any fluorocarbon polymer fumes.
However, at temperatures above 600oF some polymer fumes may be emitted due to oxidation.
Therefore, smoking should not be permitted when working with SYNFLUO 150. |
