Insulation board adhesive
INSULBOND is a water-based, ready to use acrylic copolymer adhesive. Its thick, buttery consistency allows for easy trowel application to insulation board surfaces. INSULBOND has excellent adhesion to wood, gypsum board and approved exterior wallboards, as well as to the various insulation boards. It remains flexible once cured, allowing it to “move” with any expansion and contraction in the substrate. INSULBOND, along with the other components in the Uni-Tex System, is a breather. It will allow moisture vapor to pass through the coating from the building interior, thereby eliminating condensation.
INSULBOND was specifically developed for adhering expanded polystyrene (EPS) and other approved insulation boards to exterior grade plywood, gypsum sheathing, and other approved exterior wallboard products.
All insulation board and substrate surfaces must be clean and dry, and free of dirt, dust, oil and any other contaminants which could interfere with optimum adhesion. Wood-based sheathing must comply with local code requirements, and shall be installed as per American Plywood Association guidelines. |
