SUNCOLLOID AMT-130S consists of extremely fine (7-11 nm) particles of colloidal antimony pentoxide.
It has a high refractive index and has high abrasive resistance.
The sol has excellent chemical and solvent resistance and has very good dispersability.
As a result when it is added to an organic polymer it can improve the mechanical and optical properties of the polymer.
Antimony pentoxide is also useful as a flame retardant and used in conjunction with holgenated resins and flame retardants.
The hydrolysis of SUNCOLLOID AMT-130S and an organic coupling agent will produce an excellent coating agent for plastic lenses.
The coating will have a higher refractive index and better abrasion resistance without impairing transparency.
For this application it is necessary to lower the pH. Oxycarbonic acid is effective in reducing pH for this application. |
