Catalysts
NEM (N-ethyl morpholine) catalyst and NMM (N-methyl morpholine) catalyst are clear, colorless liquids with strong ammoniacal odors.
NEM and NMM catalysts are extremely effective in the production of polyester based foams. This is due to their particular mechanism of catalysis which permits the gelling reaction to occur well beyond the completion of full rise, thereby maximizing cell openness. These morpholine derivatives also exhibit good latitude in that the rise/gel ratio varies very little with changes in catalyst concentration. Therefore, slight metering errors are less detrimental to the quality of the foam. |
