Skin Milk combines the benefits of Phillip Rockley's original Seamollient product with the attributes of lipophilic materials without adding surfactants or the irritation potential that would come from using surfactants. Skin Milk is freely dispersible in water, despite containing significant amounts of lipophiles. In cosmetic and pharmaceutical preparations Skin Milk retains all the properties of Seamollient, providing texture and viscosity control and often adding surprising stability to products. Skin Milk can form a higher viscosity product than would otherwise be expected, yet the thickening effects are thermally reversible. In general, cations are to be avoided although potassium can have an increased effect. The pH range should be maintained at pH 7.0 or above but certain formulating techniques will allow lower levels. Skin Milk lends an improved feel to virtually every product. The improvement extends not only to the initial application of the product but also to the long-term efficacy. This high molecular weight film-former binds water tenaciously and leaves a silky texture. The result is obvious: smoother, younger looking skin for a much longer time–Skin Milk, like Seamollient, is a genuine moisturizer. |
