Sea Parsley
It's no wonder that we find ourselves drawn to the sea, it has, for centuries, been a source of a better life.
Plentiful, diverse in form, and rapidly self-replenishing, algae have for millennia have been harvested for food, medicine and fertilizer.
Records show that populations as widely disparate as those of ancient China and medieval Iceland regarded sea plants as important food.
The medicinal and nutritional values of various algae are now widely accepted, even in the most conventional circles.
Numerous claims have been made for the efficacy of marine algae in personal care.
These claims include moisturizing the skin by preventing moisture loss(the emollient qualities of algae are well known), correcting cellular imbalance via a transdermal route, counteracting inflammation, protecting against IR and UV radiation, promoting free radical scavenging and combating cellulite.
Sea Parsley, discovered by scientists in 1978, is a variety of red seaweed(rhodophyta), which is now produced under controlled conditions(saltwater hydroponics).
This form of aquaculture makes it possible for the producers to selectively propagate only the most potent varieties of seaweed.
Sea Parsley is cultivated organically in unheated greenhouses using filtered clean, cold waters off the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia.
There is therefore no danger of damage to any delicate marine ecosystems.
The materials extracted from Sea Parsley are potent anti-irritants.
In vivo skin irritation studies have confirmed that Sea Parsley extract outperforms commonly used and much more expensive materials making it perfect for widespread incorporation in all skin care products where reduced irritation is a desire.
Interestingly, The minerals in Sea Parsley are balanced to those found in blood plasma and are naturally chelated by the amino acid, aiding assimilation into the body where they can work to improve the overall appearance of the skin.
Sea Parsley contains more vitamin C than apples, more zinc than oysters, considerably more iron and potassium than spinach and more vitamin A than tomatoes.
Sea Parsley contains numerous amino acids, the building blocks of proteins, in addition to enzymes and essential trace elements.
