C6 Aldehyde(caproic aldehyde) is a colorless aldehydic liquid.
C6 Aldehyde is an FDA and CoE approved flavor ingredient, principally used in fruit complexes and in imitation butter, rum, cheese, honey, arak, and other flavors.
The CoE limits the ADI value of C6 Aldehyde to 0.1 mg/kg of body weight.
In perfumes, C6 Aldehyde at high dilution ratios adds fruity undertones of apricot, cucumber, cranberry, herbal, tobacco leaf, etc.
In addition, it is an ingredient employed in the organic synthesis of plasticers, rubber hemicals, dyes, synthetic resins, and insecticides. |
