| Permalease 3440 is a unique blend of PTFE polymers when fusion coated provides multiple release of compression molded elastomeric compounds. Fused coatings of Permalease 3440 exhibit excellent durability for low mold maintenance. The surface finish of parts mold on Permalease 3440 is satin to matte depending on the polymer and amount of filler in the compound. Permalease 3440 can be applied with a hand-held spray gun or with automatic spray heads operated either intermittently or continuously. The recommended technique is to apply successive thin coatings, allowing the surface to dry between applications. Results from this technique are superior to the application of a single thick coat, which takes longer to dry and may result in surface cracking. Permalease 3440, like any other coating, dry best in a dust free environment. Adequate ventilation improves drying, as does allowing adequate spacing of covered pieces to allow free air movement among the molds. |
