immobilized penicillin-G amidase |
HAIDER--PCA |
The penicillin-G amidase produced by a process of extration from fermentation broth and subsequent purification and immobilization on polyamide beads.
HAIDER-PCA is used on an industrial salt in the hydrolysis of penicillin-G to 6-APA and Cefa-G to 7-ADCA.The enzyme is also utilized as a catalyst in the inverse reaction, specifically the synthesis of selected semisynthetic penicillins and cephalosporins from 6-APA or 7-ADCA.
