4.Major Applications:
A. Dimer Acid and amines can form polyamide of many kinds of different molecular weights, which is most used to produce Plastic Gravure and Flexographic Printing Inks, with the participation of different use-level additives (accessory materials).
B. Dimer Acid and polyamines react to form polyamide having active amine groups, which is widely used to produce bi-component epoxy paints and epoxy adhesives whose solidified matters have good mechanical and electrochemical properties. In addition, Dimer Acid is also used to make various low-temperature and low-pressure speciality lubricating agents.
C. Dimer Acid is used to produce hot melt adhesive, which is widely used to make thermoplastic articles of post, telecommunications and communications facilities and cementation of cables.
Dimer Acid
1.Introduction:
In high temperature, carboxylic group of Dimer Acid has various reactions. The common one is to react with amines to become amides. There are trace Monomer Acid and a little Trimer Acid in Dimer Acid. Dimer Acid can dissolve in most organic solvents, but it does not dissolve in water.
2.Properties:
Dimer Acid has stable, non-toxic, non-volatile specific properties. It has high flashing point and fire point and does not freeze in a low temperature. And it has relatively high viscosity and good adhesive power.
