It is used primarily in agriculture but also in homes and gardens for
insect control, and on cattle, alone or in combination with other
insecticides.

The technical product is a yellow or brown viscous liquid with a mild chemical odour. It is almost insoluble in water, but soluble in most organic solvents. Fenvalerate is stable to light, heat, and moisture, but is unstable in alkaline media. Some physical and chemical properties of fenvalerate are given in the International Chemical.
