| Petroleum resins is a kind of thermal plasticizing resin produced by C5,C9 fraction,by products of petroleum cracking, through pretreatment,polymerization and distillation.It isn't a high polymer but a low polymer with the molecular weight between 300-3000.Featured by acid value,easy mutual solubilities,resistant to water,resistant to ethanol and chemicalls,it has the chemical stabilizing property to acid and alkaline, viscosity adjusting and thermal stabilizing.Gernerally,the petroleum resins are not used independently,but have to be used together with other kinds of resins as promoters,adjusting agents and modifiers in the Paint,Adhesive,Printing ink,Rubber,paper glutting agents,plastic modifiers fields. |

A.Paints
Paints mainly use petroleum resins, DCPD resins and C5/C9 copolymerized resins with high softening points,petroleum resins . Petroleum resins can increase the final finishes of paints,the adhesiveness. Of paints films and the hardness,resistane to acid alkaline.
B.Rubbers
C5 petroleum resins,C5/C9 copolymerized resins and DCPD resins with low softening points are mainly used with rubbers which kinds have good mutual solubilities with rubber particles,no influence on the sulferization of rubber.Rubbers added with petroleum resins will increase the strenth, adhesioveness and softening characters.
C.Adhesives
Petroleum resins itself have very good adhesiveness,they can strenthen the adhesiveness of adhesives,resistance to acid, alkaline and water,they will reduce the production cost.
D.Printing inks.
Usually,the C9 petroleum resins and DCPD petroleum resins which have high softening points are used for printing inks, they have color- spreading ,fast-dry and brightening effects and will increase the printing property.
E.Others
Petroleum resins have a cetain unsaturation property and can be used as paper glutting agents, plastic modifiers etc.
