| Zuran 484 is a highly efficient, halogen-free intumescent flame retardants for polyolefins and thermoplastic elastomers such as PP (homo-and copolymers), HDPE, LDPE and EVA. The outstanding thermal stability of Zuran 484 allows it to tolerate higher processing temperatures without drastic loss in mechanical properties. Unlike halogen-containing flame retardants, there is no black smoke nor is Zuran 484 migratory. Furthermore, it provides superior water resistance compared to commonly used phosphorus/nitrogen type flame retardants, which upon compounding results in free of pre-heating and corrosion. The usage level of Zuran 484 for achieving UL 94 V-0 rating can be further reduced when it is used in combination with a small amount of anti-dripping agents. |
